Websites for Information Literacy: Who can you trust?: Home

This libguide will be a bank of trustworthy and untrustworthy websites for use in other libguides and information literacy instruction.

Can I Trust it? Real Websites

What you see may not always be as it seems. The old proverb 'Don't judge a book by its cover' is also true of the websites you use to research. Just because a website is beautiful or visually attractive doesn't mean it's reliable, and just because it's posted on a .edu or a .org doesn't mean it's scholarly. Always use your judgement when using the internet, and look for traceable sources on any information you read. The websites in this box sometimes may seem crazy, but they rely on respectable and fact checkable resources when they post their information.
